Once you start earning rewards for sustainable commute trips, the GoCarma app automatically tracks your earnings and shows your available balance on your home screen. When you meet the eligibility requirements, you can cash out your earnings as a VISA eGift Card sent directly to your email.
💰 Tracking Your Earnings
You can see how much you’ve earned at any time:
Open the GoCarma app.
Tap the menu (☰) and select Cashouts.
You’ll see:
Earnings per trip
Total earned to date
Previous cashouts
Your current balance
Your balance is the total amount you’ve earned that has not yet been cashed out.
🧮 How Earnings Are Calculated
Earnings are based on:
The distance between your home and work
The mode of travel (carpool, transit, walk, bike, or telework)
The credit rate assigned to each mode (set by the program administrator)
The app automatically calculates your miles saved and converts those into cash rewards using the latest program rules.
For example:
If you save 15 miles of solo driving by taking transit to work, and the current rate is $0.10 per mile for transit travel, you’ll earn $1.50 for that trip.
🕐 When You Can Cash Out
You can request a cashout once you meet all eligibility requirements:
You’ve completed your baseline period (e.g., 3 verified solo commutes).
You’ve maintained ongoing eligibility (at least 3 trips of any type to your physical work location within the last 30 days).
Your balance is at least $10.
You haven’t cashed out in the last 30 days.
If you meet these criteria, you’ll see the “Cash Out” button on your Cashouts screen.
💳 Receiving Your VISA eGift Card
When you tap Cash Out, the system confirms your eligibility and issues a VISA eGift Card through our fulfillment partner Tremendous.
You’ll then receive an email from GoCarma that includes:
A “Redeem Gift Card” button
Your Reward ID (for reference)
Instructions from Tremendous.com on how to access or spend your card
💡 Tip: Check your spam or promotions folder if you don’t see the email within a few minutes.

🧾 Viewing Past Cashouts
You can always view a record of your previous cashouts under Menu → Cashouts.
Each entry shows the:
Date of cashout
Amount
Status (e.g., “Completed”)
🔒 Security and Verification
Cashouts are only sent to your verified email address — this is to ensure your funds go directly to you.
If you change your email, you’ll need to verify it again before your next cashout.
